Feeling overwhelmed?

A client of mine who has come to me for a few telephone sessions over the past year, emailed me this today after listening to the July radio show:

I have to say that Story’s experience and your channel for him was extremely powerful for me…I get so excited about the changes coming that sometimes it feels a bit overwhelming for me….I think that I need to ground the energy coming through a bit more or differently. I was wondering if either of you have been experiencing this physical symptom as of late or have had experience with this: I am having sensations in my chest that cause me to feel like I can’t breathe and need to take a deep breath although it can be difficult to do this…it also comes with some pressure that can be quite uncomfortable…I feel it’s something to do with my heart opening but wanted to check in with you…I have had this in the past but this feels really different.

I emailed her my reply and after I had done so, I decided to publish it here as I know it will resonate with many of you as many of you are going through this right now - it’s the power and the energy of this time. So below is my answer to my client, given with love also to those of you here who may want or need it.

The big message I keep hearing the channel giving at the moment is the importance of quiet time, even if that is just 5 or 10 minutes here and there throughout the day. Time where there are no demands on your external energy but just time where you can ‘be’ with yourself internally. This needn’t be any form of structured meditation if you don’t want it to be. You can just sit by yourself and simply feel how you feel. Without judgement or worry (eg if you realize you feel stressed, just notice that and allow it for then it will pass. If you fight it, the stress will continue and often worsen).

Also for me personally, this sitting and being is the only practice I use now whenever I’m going through a big or intense vibrational shift, which you definitely are right now. Remember that these shifts are like undergoing energetic surgery – they are nothing to be worried about (quite the opposite infact- they bring wonderful changes) but they are to be taken seriously when you are going through them. By that I mean, if it were a physical operation you had just gone through, you would definitely rest and take things easy. A lot of lightworkers right now (and I’ve been getting this recently too) are having very big energetic shifts and reconfigurations going on in their sleep. Literally, while we are sleeping we are shedding density and becoming more ‘light’. It can make you feel overtired and a little spacey as when you wake up, a part of you has adjusted, often quite dramatically. 

But just remember you are in the steering wheel with this process, and so if it gets overwhelming, have an internal word with yourself. Just internally ask for a bit more of whatever you need to come your way and it will, whether that’s more grounding or more peace in your daily life. It’s important to remember that as much as it feels this speed of shift is happening to you it is also being driven by you. So just ask yourself for ease and peace on the days you feel you need a bit more of that and make sure that you on those days support that request via your actions, by doing things as peacefully and gently as you can. It’s a 2 way process and commonly, we forget one or the other. We ask the universe but then try and do far too much as human beings. But if you remember to get human and soul working in harmony while you go through these shifts, a balance will return.As for the breathing that’s the anxiety of how fast the change is occurring. I’ve experienced that myself, and it is the body telling you to just stop and be still. Both in the moment and as a longer term reminder that big change is occurring within you. The heart opening is so wonderful, but yes, it can be a big surprise too. So be good to yourself. Very simple advice really, but so important to remember that the simplicity of this can be so powerful when applied. Rest time with the self equals the best grounding you can get.
